Automated guest messages keep your guest informed from booking through to check-out. They’re designed to answer questions before they arise, saving you time whilst keeping your guests happy. Create your own templates using your unique tone of voice to offer that personal touch.

Personalise each message using guest booking information

Insert the following ‘messages ‘tags’ to create messages personal to each guest:

  • Guest first name
  • Guest surname
  • Length of stay
  • Check-in/out time
  • Check-in/out date
  • Listing name (taken from Airbnb)
  • Listing address (taken from Airbnb)
  • Listing location (city eg. London)
  • Host first name (taken from the Airbnb account you connected to)
  • Host surname (taken from the Airbnb account you connected to)

Inserting message tags into a message

To insert the message tag into a message, select the place where you want the message tag to be, then click on the message tag (as shown in the image below). Alternatively you can paste or type the merge tag into the message. Just be careful to ensure the message tag is correct and includes the curly brackets {}.

Send your messages at the perfect time

Guest messages are sent at the following times:

  1. When booking is confirmed (sent within the hour)
  2. 72 hours (3 days) before check-in (based on check-in time)
  3. 24 hours (1 day) before check-in (based on check-in time)
  4. 10 am on the day after check-in (first morning of guest stay)
  5. 16 hours before check-out (based on check-out time)
  6. 24 hours (1 day) after check-out (based on check-out time)

Turning messages on/off

Select the toggle to turn the message on or off (as shown in the image below).

Message templates you can edit or replace entirely

To help you get started, we’ve provided the message templates we use for our own properties. You can either tweak these to suit or replace them entirely. The following is an example template for a '3 days before stay':

Hi {guest_first_name},
We look forward to welcoming you in the next few days! You can check in anytime after {check_in_time} on the {check_in_date}.
I'll send you check-in instructions tomorrow.
