The following guide refers to connecting to VRBO via iCalendar. Uplisting also connects to VRBO (HomeAway) in real-time (a much better solution) to sync bookings, rates, messages, content and more. Connect to VRBO via iCalendar

Syncing with VRBO involves 2 parts. First is to import bookings from VRBO to Uplisting and second is to export unavailabilities from Uplisting to VRBO.

Part 1. Importing bookings from VRBO to Uplisting

The following instructions are from VRBO and can be found on their help forum here.

1.1 On VRBO

  1. Sign into your VRBO account

  2. Click Calendar

  3. Click Export Calendar Data

  4. Copy the URL

1.2 On Uplisting

  1. Select the listing on Uplisting you wish to sync with the VRBO listing above

  2. Select the 'Connect' button on the VRBO row

  3. Paste the iCalendar link copied from VRBO (above), shown in figure 1 below.

  4. Click 'Next sync availabilities' button to export your unavailabilities to VRBO (instructions below).

2. Exporting unavailabilities from Uplisting to VRBO

2.1 On Uplisting

Copy the 'sync availabilities' iCalendar link provided on Uplisting

2.2 On VRBO

  1. Go to your VRBO account

  2. Click Calendar.

  3. Select the correct property.

  4. Click the Import/Export Calendar icon

  5. Click Import Calendar.

  6. Give the calendar a name.

  7. Select a color to represent the calendar.

  8. Paste the calendar URL you copied from Uplisting.

  9. Select whether the calendar will block availability. (Note: in order to block availability, the event must span at least one night.)

  10. Click Import Calendar.

3. Testing the connection

  1. After you have imported bookings and exported your unavailabilities (above), click 'Next test connection'

  2. Wait a few seconds as Uplisting imports any VRBO bookings. You will see the number of bookings imported, and any bookings will now be displayed on the calendar.
